What is waiting for you?

• Development of front-end website architecture and back-end applications that support better cooperation among the European Commission, individuals, and business entities.
• Your daily tasks will include code refactoring activities.
• Your responsibility will be the creation of servers and databases for functionality. This activity is closely related to understanding and implementing security and data protection.
• A big part of your workload will take the design of user interactions on web pages. Also design responsive applications, APIs, and scalable software.
• You will implement core business logic.
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues would be also up to you.
• Hand in hand with that goes compiling and analyzing data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement. 

What do we expect from you?

• A University degree is a big advantage.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as Angular and Bootstrap.
• Proficiency with back-end languages and frameworks such as Java, Spring boot, and Hibernate.
• Familiarity with database technology such as Oracle, MongoDB.
• Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git or SVN.
• You have the knowledge and/or regularly update your overview of trends, technologies, and standards used in Java development and design of Enterprise solutions.
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills.
• Ability to understand, speak, and write English B2.
• French at C1 level will be a definite advantage. 
• You should be able to travel to Brussels once a week (it is required to live 2 hours away from Brussels).
